This time the Obama administration of the US government has the Veto power in the Copenhagen Climate Summit and it is useful to see Obama’s vision playing out.
But more important is to see how European leadership must act to break the deadlock and prevent failure on this important Hope creating Climate policy next month.
Come December we’ll know if Europe can influence US or if the Atlantic Bridge goes only one way.
With the emergence of Chimerica-America, the G2, the G nothing and maybe even the G string, the EU leadership was found asleep at the switch. The G2 decides the G8 and even more importantly the G20 progress.
The democratic shift from Bush to Obama has still failed to make the world a safer and better place.
Certainly the climate isn’t any safer by the day.
It is warmer but not safer.
We look at a 6 degree Celcius temperature rise.
And it gets worse day by day.
And Obama prevaricates about going to Copenhagen…
The new EU leadership will hopefully invest in the creation of G3 for a more balanced world.
For that high purpose European courage and self respect are essential, will they be available now ?
Will the Europeans manage to talk and advise and coerce and convince the Americans; to bring the Obama brand into the Copenhagen meetings to make it a success?
Let’s make Copenhagen a new Hope for Christmas.
How does Hoopenhagen sound?
