Environmental Parliament first broke the news about the real size of the gusher in the gulf of Mexico and the BP oil spill lies… TEDxOilspill

Oil has been gushing in the gulf of Mexico ever since the offshore drilling rig Deepwater Horizon exploded 50 miles offshore from the coast of Louisiana on April 20, killing 11 workers.  BP obfuscated the real size of the oil spill and  minimized the numbers in an effort to downplay the significance of the disaster…

However today we have more than enough proof of their malfeasance coming in every day.  What worked for them in the past and in many other places of the world isn’t working now in America.  Their PR overdrive seems callous. Their haphazard efforts at clean up seem thrown up. Their competence is completely challenged and their Theatrics are inadequate. They have been roundly exposed for what they are.

Today, at the blown BP oil well, the two partial containment systems that have been operating and capturing anywhere from 840,000 to 1.2 million gallons of oil a day, leave us no doubt as to the size of the gusher the BP and Halliburton unleashed.

Knowing that the capture is rather incomplete and inefficient, and visibly allowing vast amounts of oil to escape, the real amount of oil still flowing into the gulf is the remaining balance form what is captured to the 1.5 million gallons the Environmental Parliament originally estimated the spill in the Gulf when we first broke the story of the actual size of it.

As you might recall, in the first fifty days when the BP failed to do anything except leaving the oil to gush freely into the Gulf, they claimed it was a minor spill worth maybe five thousand gallons a day…  fully knowing that it was more than a million gallons per day gusher under their ”faulty Towers” method of offshore oil platform drilling…

Although no one knows exactly how much oil is flowing, the worst-case estimates indicate it could be as much as 2.5 million gallons a day.

Realistically it’s above 1.5 million gallons a day and when the Environmental Parliament first broke the story of the real size of the oil spill, the news wasn’t  well received. People called us dramatic and unfounded.

That is until we offered the story to the National Public Radio of America.  They checked the validity of our methods and metrics and then they produced a radio documentary as only they know how to do.  And they broadcast it widely through their multiple affiliates to a thoughtful radio listening public.

Only then the news cascaded and they triggered a national public disgust and a media frenzy to quantify and verify… The rest is History.

To that effect we want to greet and congratulate the TEDxOIL conference in Washington for highlighting the responses of the people towards the disaster and bringing together the best and brightest to talk and share.  Visit the http://tedxoilspill.com/ and follow the conversation.

Yours,

Pano

PS:

The real Faulty Towers are smart, green and funny.

None of these attributes applies to the current BP leadership.

They are just faulty…
