”After Cancun Now What” London Conference we held a few weeks ago at the London School of Economics looked at the sorry state of affairs of the planet’s climate and atmosphere and the complete let down of the UN climate negotiation process.

As you might recall, we spoke passionately about the dismal state of affairs and it was all about the subject matter for what needs to happen after Cancun when the process we placed so much trust into proved completely toothless.

Where is leadership to be found now?

And most importantly, what actions of the Environmental Parliament are appropriate now?

What major actions in response to a warming planet & Climate Change can be most effective and what we, as a society of democratic intelligent people can do.

And in light of the inability and/or unwillingness of the world’s largest economies of the US and China to act – we must retrench.

And it’s just as well since the same is true for all other large and industrialized countries and even surprisingly for the greenwashing countries. The old idea that Britain will be leading the charge against climate change amongst EU countries, is hogwash, because the coalition government proved an enemy of the environment at best and a monster greenwashing PR machine at worse. Yet nothing else.

And the same holds true for the other western developed democracies.

We’ve got No leadership.

Forget about the IPCC and the UN as they have been completely emasculated at present and unable to effect change… mired in a corporate relationship building and dealing with the devil to it’s benefit.

Don’t get me started on the Quisling doctrine that Businesses and corporations will lead the response to Climate change… Complete bollocks.

Relying on world’s governments is like the blind, leading the blind.

So where leadership is gonna come from if not from EP?
