For the US government the issue is also integral and won’t go away regardless of politicking in the House and the news media.
Unfortunately for the politicians of the left and the right it has only become a simple talking point ..
But the earth isn’t standing still…
Mighty empires have fallen on a lot less.
Leading empires failed before — often being strangled — by their own empty treasuries.
This is a case of emptying the treasury intentionally…
Strangling the US economy and government, smells of treachery and defeatism to me.

Balanced budgets and even surpluses will come once the economy picks up steam and starts growing filling up the treasury.
